AI may invent a detail, misread the order of events, or turn one entry into a claim about a pattern. A dated source helps you check an answer; it does not prove the AI’s interpretation.

Check an AI response

  • Compare claims with the original entry, including its date and what you actually wrote. The journal itself may be incomplete or mistaken, too.
  • Treat a suggested pattern or explanation as a possibility to consider, not a fact about your motives, health, or future.
  • If the app has little relevant writing or a recent entry has not synced, Ask Lucy may lack enough evidence. Try a narrower journal question or return after sync.
  • Use these guides and the app’s controls for feature instructions. Ask Lucy can sound convincing when explaining a feature it does not know about.
  • Check outside facts with a reliable source. Ask Lucy is designed around your journal, not as a source for research, news, or professional guidance.

What Ask Lucy cannot do

Ask Lucy answers questions about journal history. It cannot send messages, set alarms or reminders, change app settings, make appointments, or take action outside the journal. A response that sounds like a promise to do one of these things is not an action.

Gentle AI fair use

As fair-use controls roll out, Ask Lucy and Reflekt each have a separate daily soft threshold of 30 completed responses per account. Afterward, you can keep going with a short wait between requests.
