Ask Lucy and Reflekt are here to support your reflection. Our fair-use approach allows generous everyday use, with short pauses during heavier use rather than a daily cutoff.
These controls are being prepared for a gradual rollout. Publishing this guide does not turn them on. The behavior below applies when fair use is enabled for your account.

Separate daily allowances

Your account has a daily soft threshold of 30 completed Ask Lucy responses and 30 completed Reflekt responses. The two totals are separate: using Lucy does not use up your Reflekt allowance. Each total follows your account across devices. Reflekt usage is shared across all your entries; it is not a separate allowance for each entry. Daily totals reset at midnight UTC, which may fall at a different local time where you live.

Keep going after 30 responses

There is no daily hard cutoff. Once a feature reaches 30 completed responses, you can continue using it with at least 60 seconds between the starts of new requests. The pause applies separately to Lucy and Reflekt. Successfully completed answers count once. A failed generation does not count, and recovering the same answer after a connection problem does not count again. Asking for a deliberately new answer does count.

Your writing stays available

If a wait is needed, the updated app shows a small inline notice, such as:
You can continue in 42 seconds. Your writing is saved.
You can keep writing, save entries, and read your journal and existing reflections. Your question stays available to retry. Only the affected AI action pauses, and the app does not automatically send your question when the countdown ends. Tap again when you are ready. Very rapid requests can also cause a brief pause, even before the daily threshold. Wait for a current answer to finish before starting another for the same feature. Repeatedly tapping during a pause does not extend that pause.

What Lucy is here for

Lucy supports reflection about feelings, relationships, personal decisions, and relevant practical next steps, even when you have little journal history. For example, you can explore stress at work or draft a thoughtful message about a difficult conversation. For clearly unrelated coding, bulk content generation, trivia, or general-purpose tasks, Lucy will gently invite you back to personal reflection. If a request mixes personal and unrelated tasks, Lucy can help with the personal part. Its responses can still be mistaken; see AI limitations and safety.

Fair use on shared networks

Controls apply to your account. Sharing Wi-Fi with someone else does not by itself cause a block. Where verified network signals are available, unusually rapid traffic can help identify when a particular account needs a longer temporary pause. Usage monitoring does not put your journal text or prompts into abuse metrics. Return to Ask Lucy or Reflekt, or read Privacy and AI.
